Australia’s fast bowler Darcie Brown will miss the third and final T20I against New Zealand in Wellington after returning home for family reasons. Brown played a key role in Australia’s dominant performance in the first two matches, helping them seal the series 2-0 with one game to spare.

Brown impressed with her bowling, taking 1 for 22 from four overs in Auckland and 2 for 23 from four in Mount Maunganui. However, she has now left the tour, and Cricket Australia confirmed that no replacement would be added to the squad. Megan Schutt, who was rested for the second T20I, is expected to return for the final match.
Australia is already dealing with the absence of vice-captain Ashleigh Gardner, who suffered a broken finger while attempting a return catch in the opening game in Auckland. Gardner’s injury was a setback for the team, but they managed to maintain their winning momentum.
To bolster the squad, Queensland offspinning allrounder Charli Knott was flown in before the second match in Mount Maunganui. However, Knott is yet to make her international debut. With Brown’s departure, there is a possibility that Knott might get her first opportunity in the final game.
Australia will aim for a clean sweep in the final T20I despite these changes. Their bowling attack, led by Schutt and other experienced players, remains strong, giving them confidence ahead of the last match.
