Ravichandran Ashwin has entered the inaugural ILT20 auction with the highest base price of USD 120,000. The auction is scheduled for October 1 in Dubai. Ashwin, who recently retired from international cricket and the IPL, is the only player in the longlist with a six-figure base price. If picked, this will mark his first appearance in an overseas T20 league.

The 39-year-old is one of 24 Indian players among nearly 800 names in the initial longlist. A trimmed-down final list will be prepared once franchises submit their wishlists later this week. The fourth edition of ILT20, featuring six teams, will be played from December 2 to January 4. Ashwin has made himself fully available for the tournament and could also feature in the Big Bash League afterward, with four franchises reportedly showing interest.
ILT20 franchises completed their retentions and direct signings in July. Each team was allowed to spend up to USD 1.2 million on those signings, with the remaining amount carried into the auction purse of USD 800,000. Teams can spend a maximum of USD 2 million and must use at least USD 1.5 million. In addition, they can spend an extra USD 250,000 on two wildcard players outside the auction.
The tournament’s squad rules require franchises to build squads of 19 to 21 players, excluding wildcards. Each squad must include at least 11 players from Full Member countries, four from the UAE, one from Kuwait, one from Saudi Arabia, and two from other Associate nations. Teams will also have one right-to-match (RTM) card, but it can only be used for a UAE player who was part of the franchise’s development squad or 2025 squad.
