Afghanistan cricket captain Rashid Khan has ended days of speculation about his personal life by confirming his second marriage through a heartfelt social media post. The star leg-spinner clarified that the woman seen with him in recent viral photos is his wife, not just an acquaintance, as rumours had suggested. The confusion arose after pictures from a charity event in the Netherlands, where Rashid was seen sitting beside a woman in traditional Afghan attire, led many to believe he had secretly married again.

Rashid addressed the rumours on Instagram, revealing that he married for the second time on August 2, 2025. “On August 2nd, 2025, I began a new and meaningful chapter of my life. I had my nikkah done and married a woman who embodies the love, peace, and partnership I always hoped for,” he wrote. He also expressed disappointment over the assumptions made about the charity event, clarifying that his wife had accompanied him to support his foundation’s work.
The viral photos were taken at the official launch of the Rashid Khan Charity Foundation in the Netherlands, which focuses on education, healthcare, and clean drinking water for underprivileged Afghan communities. Rashid and his wife attended the event together to promote these humanitarian initiatives.
Rashid, who previously married in October 2024 in Kabul during a family ceremony where three of his brothers also wed, continues to balance his cricketing success with philanthropy. With 182 wickets in 108 T20Is, he remains one of the most consistent bowlers in world cricket. After leading Afghanistan in the 2025 Asia Cup, Rashid is set to captain the team in the upcoming T20I series against the West Indies in January 2026 as part of their preparations for the T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
