Preethi Pal made history by winning the bronze medal in the Women’s 100m T35 final at the Paris Paralympics 2024. She became the first Indian Paralympian to secure a podium finish in a track event at the Paralympics. Hailing from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, Preethi Pal delivered an impressive performance with a time of 14.21 seconds.

The race was led by Chinese athletes, with Xia Zhou clinching gold with a season-best time of 13.58 seconds and Qianqian Gou securing silver with a finish of 13.74 seconds. Despite the strong competition, Pal’s determination and skill earned her a well-deserved place on the podium.
Earlier in the year, Preethi Pal won a bronze medal at the World Para Athletics Championships 2024 in Kobe, setting the stage for her success at the Paris Games. Although she narrowly missed out on medals at the Para Asian Games in Hangzhou the previous year, her performance in Paris confirmed her status as a formidable athlete. Her bronze medal in the Women’s 100m T35 event at the Paralympics is a significant milestone, showcasing her talent and dedication on a global stage.
