My Hero Academia Prequel Reveals New Look at All Might’s Batman-Inspired Design

My Hero Academia fans have something exciting to look forward to as the anime adaptation of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is set to premiere on April 7, 2025. This spin-off series arrives months after the main manga’s conclusion on August 5, 2024, filling the gap for fans eager for more content.

A newly released illustration on X has increased anticipation, showcasing Knuckleduster, one of the series’ key characters. Drawn by manga artist @bet10co10, the artwork depicts Knuckleduster with a pensive expression, smoking a cigarette while holding a bag and a newspaper. Often compared to Batman, Knuckleduster’s tragic past shapes his vigilante path as he takes justice into his own hands.

Once known as High-Speed Hero: O’Clock, Knuckleduster originally had a Quirk until All For One, My Hero Academia’s most notorious villain, stole it from him. Despite losing his ability, he refused to stop fighting crime. However, since Quirkless individuals cannot legally become Pro Heroes, he continued his mission outside the system, keeping the streets safe as a vigilante.

The Vigilantes anime follows a different side of Hero Society, exploring individuals who cannot officially become heroes but still choose to battle villains. The story centers around Koichi Haimawari (The Skycrawler), Iwao Oguro (Knuckleduster), and Kazuho Haneyama (Pop☆Step) as they form an unconventional but effective team.

The anime is based on a spin-off manga that ran from August 20, 2016, to May 28, 2022, spanning 15 volumes. Alongside this new prequel, My Hero Academia Season 8 will debut in Fall 2025, bringing an action-packed year for fans.
