The upcoming TV anime adaptation of Fermat no Ryori (Fermat’s Cooking), a cooking-themed manga by Yugo Kobayashi (Aoashi), has announced two main voice cast members. Alongside this, character visuals for the anime were revealed, though details about the staff and broadcast date remain undisclosed.

Ryosuke Tomita (Sota Higure in Sasaki and Miyano) will voice Gaku Kitada, a boy who once dreamed of becoming a mathematician but struggled against the brilliance of true geniuses. Meanwhile, Taito Ban (Amane Fujimiya in The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten) will portray Kai Asakura, a charismatic young chef who owns the one-star restaurant K at just 23.
Both voice actors will appear at an AnimeJapan 2025 stage event on March 23 at 11:00 a.m.

Ryosuke Tomita on Playing Gaku Kitada:
Tomita expressed excitement about his role, recalling his joy and nervousness upon passing the audition. He described Gaku as someone who shifts from mathematics to cooking, growing as a chef through logical thinking. He promised to give his best performance and teased that the anime would deliver “extreme food terrorism.”
Taito Ban on Playing Kai Asakura:

Ban highlighted Kai’s pivotal role in the story, as he discovers Gaku and guides him into the culinary world. While Kai is a genius chef, he is also an intense and demanding mentor. Ban emphasized Kai’s unwavering passion for cooking and called him the “other protagonist” of the story. He hopes viewers will enjoy the passion and “heat” of the chefs’ creations.
Serialized in Monthly Shonen Magazine since September 2018, Fermat no Ryori has four published volumes. The story follows Gaku, who abandons his math dreams but finds a new purpose in cooking under Kai’s guidance, using mathematics to craft extraordinary dishes.
