World No. 29 Katie Boulter has reached the semi-finals of the Hong Kong Tennis Open, showcasing poise and precision in her latest victory. Katie Boulter saved two crucial break points in a tightly contested first set, ultimately making the decisive break in the 10th game to secure the set. The second set saw the British player in complete control, finishing in just 30 minutes with a highlight cross-court forehand that punctuated a lengthy rally in the fourth game.
Reflecting on her performance, Katie Boulter admitted to a slow start. “The first set, I think I was on another planet,” she said. “She was playing good tennis, but I picked up at 5-3 and played some really good stuff after that. I felt free and relaxed on the court.”
This win follows her impressive run to the Pan Pacific Open semi-finals last week, continuing her strong late-season momentum. In the next round, Katie Boulter, the tournament’s second seed, will face China’s sixth seed Yue Yuan, who defeated American Sofia Kenin in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.
The 28 year old is aiming for her third WTA Tour title of the season, after already winning titles in Nottingham and San Diego earlier this year.
