Quan Hongchan and Chen Yuxi Secure Gold in Women’s 10m Platform Synchro at Paris 2024; DPRK Makes History with Silver

At the Paris 2024 Olympics, Quan Hongchan and Chen Yuxi from the People’s Republic of China secured the gold medal in the women’s 10m platform synchro event on July 31. This victory adds to their impressive resume following their gold and silver finishes in the individual 10m platform event at Tokyo 2020 and their status as reigning world champions.

China’s win marks their seventh consecutive gold in this discipline, a streak that began with the event’s debut at the Sydney 2000 Olympics.

In a historic achievement for the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), Jo Jin Mi and Kim Mi Rae took home the silver medal, becoming the first divers from their country to earn an Olympic medal in diving.

Team GB’s Lois Toulson and Andrea Spendolini Sirieix received the bronze medal.
