Sheng Lihao of China secured his second gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics by winning the men’s 10m air rifle competition on Monday, July 29. Fresh off his victory in the 10m air rifle mixed team event with Huang Yuting on Saturday, the 19-year-old set an Olympic record with a score of 252.2.

Sheng Lihao’s remarkable performance adds to his impressive medal tally, which includes a silver in the 10m air rifle at Tokyo 2020. On his Olympic debut, Sweden’s Victor Lindgren claimed silver with a score of 251.4, while Miran Maricic from Croatia earned bronze with 230.0, marking Croatia’s first medal of the Games.
“I am very, very happy,” Sheng Lihao said after his win, becoming the first athlete at Paris 2024 to achieve two gold medals. He expressed confidence in his ability to continue improving and winning more medals in the future.
When asked about his plans to celebrate, Sheng Lihao replied with modesty, “I don’t know. “I’m a bit overwhelmed right now, maybe because of the emotions, but I’m really happy.” His outstanding achievements underscore his talent and potential in the sport.
