India’s Neeraj Chopra will compete in the men’s javelin throw event at the Paris 2024 Olympics, starting at the Stade de France on Tuesday.
Neeraj Chopra, the reigning Olympic and world champion, made history at Tokyo 2020 by winning the gold medal in men’s javelin throw. Consequently, he became the first Indian to ever medal in an athletics event at the Olympics.

Fans in India can watch Neeraj Chopra’s Olympic javelin throw event via live streaming and telecast. Additionally, they can follow updates and highlights through various sports channels and online platforms.
At Paris 2024, the javelin throw, like all field events, will occur in two phases: the qualification round and the final medal round.
The qualification round features 32 athletes divided into two groups (A and B). Athletes can secure a spot in the final by achieving the entry standard of 84.00m. If fewer than 12 athletes meet this mark, the highest-ranked athletes from the qualifiers will advance until a total of at least 12 finalists is reached. If more than 12 athletes achieve the entry standard, all who do will move on to the final.
