Fabio Quartararo showcased his competitive spirit at the French MotoGP in Le Mans, marking one of his strongest performances of the season despite a crash that ended his race prematurely.
Qualifying in eighth position, the former world champion fought within the top eight during the grand prix, demonstrating promising pace on the Yamaha M1.
Reflecting on his performance, Quartararo expressed contentment with feeling competitive once again, battling familiar rivals like Aleix Espargaro and sighting Maverick Vinales and Marc Marquez ahead of him.

While running in sixth place, Quartararo unfortunately crashed out on lap 17 of 27. Nevertheless, he remained satisfied with his performance, stating, “I’m happy because it’s the first race this year that I feel I’m competitive.”
Yamaha introduced a new set-up on Quartararo’s bike for the race, aiming to provide a distinct feeling. Although Quartararo felt only a slight improvement, he acknowledged its positive impact and potential as a base setting for future races.
The new set-up offered improved grip, particularly during entry into corners, but Quartararo highlighted areas for further improvement, such as bike stability and turning capability.

Despite the crash, Quartararo found encouragement in his ability to contend at the sharp end once again, considering it a significant mental boost compared to his previous sprint podium at Jerez. He emphasized the importance of genuine pace and competitive racing in boosting his confidence for future races.
With Quartararo currently 12th in the standings after five rounds, he remains optimistic about the team’s progress and looks forward to further improvements in upcoming races.
