The likelihood of Jorge Martin continuing with the Pramac MotoGP team beyond 2024 seems slim, as the 26-year-old rider expresses his desire for a move to a factory team.
Martin, who debuted with Pramac in 2021 and finished as the runner-up in the 2023 MotoGP championship, had the potential for automatic promotion to the Ducati factory team for the current season. However, with his future at Pramac already in question, Martin hinted at his intentions during the Americas Grand Prix.
Speaking about a potential collaboration between Yamaha and Pramac for 2025, Martin stated that his loyalty lies more with Ducati than with Pramac throughout his MotoGP career. He emphasized his priority of securing a spot in a factory team and hinted that he wouldn’t stay with Pramac even if they were to switch manufacturers.

This statement follows remarks made by Pramac team boss Gino Borsoi, who suggested that Martin’s time with the team may be coming to an end. Ducati management has also voiced their belief that Martin deserves a factory seat.
With Francesco Bagnaia already confirmed for two more years with Ducati, the final factory team seat is highly sought after, with Martin being a key contender. Pramac reportedly has an escape clause in its contract with Ducati, allowing them to explore offers from other manufacturers such as Yamaha and KTM.
As Martin’s aspirations align with securing a spot in a factory team, his future in MotoGP beyond 2024 remains uncertain, with potential changes on the horizon for both him and Pramac.
