Marini Enthusiastic about Honda’s MotoGP Potential, Aims for a Strong Comeback

Luca Marini Embraces Role at Honda, Foresees Rapid Progress for the Manufacturer in MotoGP

In his first official interview as part of Honda’s MotoGP team, Luca Marini expressed optimism about the manufacturer’s potential to swiftly reclaim its leading position on the grid.

Marini, a multiple MotoGP podium finisher, recently joined Honda on a two-year deal, stepping in to replace Marc Marquez, who has moved to Gresini Ducati for the 2024 season.

Following his debut with Honda at the Valencia test, where he finished in 10th place and showed promise just 0.703s off the pace, contractual obligations prevented Marini from publicly discussing his move until now.

Reflecting on the transition to Honda, Marini acknowledged the initial surprise after Marquez’s departure but affirmed his commitment to the new challenge, aiming to collaboratively elevate performance levels to secure victories and championships.

Highlighting Honda’s esteemed legacy in MotoGP, Marini emphasized the collective effort to stage a prompt resurgence, expressing confidence in the team’s potential to reclaim their competitive edge swiftly.

Expressing ambition for podium finishes and victories, Marini acknowledges the potential challenges but remains resolute about the future, emphasizing the importance of a forward-looking approach.

Commending Honda’s organizational culture, Marini described working within the factory setup as a dream, expressing excitement about collaborating with the diverse team members, particularly appreciating the synergy with the Japanese contingent.

Despite the rapid pace of his initial experience with Honda during the Valencia test, Marini anticipates ample time for interaction and collaboration with the extensive team, aiming to capitalize on the collective expertise and foster a strong working relationship.
