Fabio Di Giannantonio’s 2025 MotoGP season began in the worst possible way—a collarbone fracture on the first day of testing 🏥. Now, just 17 days after surgery, the VR46 Racing Team rider is set to return at the Thai Grand Prix 🇹🇭, though he admits his injured shoulder is far from fully recovered.
🚑 Recovery Challenges & Limited Training
Di Giannantonio’s left collarbone—which he had previously undergone surgery on in late 2024—was fractured in a tricky spot during the Sepang test in February. This forced him to avoid training and focus solely on physiotherapy 🏋️♂️❌.
🗣️ “I had to be really careful. The plate is placed at the edge of my collarbone, and putting too much stress on it could have required another surgery,” he explained.
💆 “Most of my time was spent in physio. No gym work—just recovery.”
Despite this, the Italian remains optimistic:
🔥 “I’m 95% physically ready, but my shoulder is at 0%. Still, I feel good and motivated!”
🏁 Determined to Race, Despite Weakness in His Left Arm

Although far from peak fitness, Di Giannantonio is confident he will race in Thailand 💪.
⚠️ “I will miss some power in my left arm, but last year I did seven races with a shoulder that was dislocating on every braking zone. So, no worries!”
🎯 His goals for the weekend?
✅ Complete both races
✅ Rack up as many laps as possible
*✅ Rebuild confidence & rhythm on the bike
🔴 Ducati’s 2025 Bike: A Strong Contender?

Di Giannantonio’s injury also meant limited testing time on the new Ducati 🏍️. However, he trusts the GP24-based bike that Ducati has chosen for the 2025 season.
💬 “Ducati tested a new spec in Sepang, made some changes, and ultimately decided on the best package.”
With Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia leading the development, Di Giannantonio is confident in the decision:
🔥 “We’re all on the same package—it seems like the best Ducati bike!”
As Buriram approaches, Di Giannantonio is ready to push through the pain and regain his form 🏆. Can he fight through the setback and make a strong return? Stay tuned! 📢👀
