In a surprising turn of events, Jack Miller is on the verge of securing his place on the MotoGP grid for 2025 with Pramac Yamaha, marking a dramatic comeback after it seemed his time in the premier class might be over.

The four-time grand prix winner faced uncertainty regarding his future after being sidelined by KTM. During the British Grand Prix weekend, Miller candidly shared that his phone hadn’t been ringing with offers from MotoGP teams, sparking speculation that his next move might be to World Superbikes, as Ducati had reportedly offered him a contract in that series.

However, things took a positive turn when Miller and his manager, Aki Ajo, were spotted leaving the Pramac hospitality area during the British GP, hinting at discussions about a potential return to the team when it becomes a Yamaha satellite squad in 2025.

According to motosans.es, the deal is now finalized, and Miller will join Miguel Oliveira at Pramac Yamaha, riding factory-spec bikes next season. This move marks a significant return for Miller, who previously raced for Pramac Ducati between 2018 and 2020 before joining the factory Ducati team alongside Francesco Bagnaia in 2021.

While Miller’s name was initially linked to Pramac following news of its switch to Yamaha, there was speculation that a Moto2 rookie might fill the second seat. Despite this, Miller’s extensive experience and past success with Pramac made him an attractive choice for the team as it embarks on a new chapter with Yamaha.

Miller’s potential departure from MotoGP seemed imminent, especially after reports emerged that Australia’s Linfox group, owner of the Phillip Island circuit, had held talks with Gresini Racing about taking over its satellite Ducati squad to keep Miller on the grid. However, this proposal was reportedly declined by Nadia Padovani, closing the door on that opportunity.

Miller’s impending return to Pramac Yamaha highlights Dorna’s ongoing efforts to maintain a diverse and competitive MotoGP grid. However, Miller has always emphasized that he would never want to secure a ride based solely on his nationality. His value as a rider goes beyond his passport, with a proven track record as a key development rider over the past decade.

During his previous stint with Pramac, Miller played a crucial role in debuting Ducati’s innovative ride height system. His experience with Honda, Ducati, and KTM machinery, combined with Oliveira’s knowledge of KTM and Aprilia, is expected to significantly benefit Yamaha as it continues its rebuilding phase.

Additionally, Miller’s return to Pramac Yamaha will see him reunited with technical director Max Bartolini, with whom he previously worked at Ducati. This reunion could further enhance the team’s efforts to make a strong impact in the 2025 season.

As the MotoGP grid begins to take shape for the next season, Jack Miller’s move to Pramac Yamaha is shaping up to be one of the most intriguing and potentially game-changing developments.
