Jack Miller at KTM Crossroads: Factory Exit or Reprieve in Tech3?

Jack Miller’s future with KTM hangs in the balance after the manufacturer confirmed his replacement for the 2025 MotoGP season. Spanish prodigy Pedro Acosta will step into the factory KTM seat alongside Brad Binder, leaving Miller’s position uncertain.

However, KTM has extended an olive branch, offering Miller a spot in the Tech3 GASGAS team, essentially a swap with Acosta. “We are talking to him,” confirmed KTM team manager Francesco Guidotti. “We would like for him to stay in the project.”

The decision places the ball firmly in Miller’s court. While a demotion to a satellite team on paper, KTM maintains all four of their MotoGP positions hold equal weight. “We see the project: in our group we have four MotoGP places,” stated KTM motorsport director Pit Beirer. Miller himself echoes this sentiment, believing the Tech3 bike to be “basically a factory bike that’s red.”

Despite this, Miller’s expiring contract and the availability of a different machine have fueled speculation of a move to Honda. The Japanese manufacturer is actively seeking experienced riders to spearhead their resurgence, having recruited Luca Marini and Johann Zarco this year.

KTM, however, remains committed to Miller. Their focus lies in maximizing results from their current riders, including Miller and Augusto Fernandez, to retain their services. The Acosta promotion creates a domino effect, with Miller presented with the option to stay with KTM in the Tech3 team.

Ultimately, the decision rests with Miller. Will he accept the Tech3 offer and remain within the KTM fold, or will he be lured away by the prospect of a fresh start with Honda? With other manufacturers likely vying for his talent, the upcoming weeks could see a significant rider shuffle in the MotoGP paddock.
