Max Verstappen and Kelly Piquet Announce They’re Expecting a Baby in 2025

Four-time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen has announced that he and his partner Kelly Piquet are expecting their first child together. The news came on Friday morning via a heartfelt social media post from the Red Bull driver, following his recent triumph in securing his fourth consecutive F1 title.

Verstappen, who has been in a relationship with Piquet since 2020, shared his excitement about the upcoming addition to their family. Piquet, the daughter of three-time F1 world champion Nelson Piquet, previously had a relationship with Russian F1 driver Daniil Kvyat, with whom she has a daughter, Penelope, born in 2019. Despite their split in the same year, Verstappen has embraced his role as a “bonus dad” to Penelope.

At the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Verstappen expressed his joy, stating, “Of course I’m already kind of a ‘bonus dad,’ but I’m still very excited!”

On Instagram, Verstappen wrote, “Mini Verstappen-Piquet on the way. We couldn’t be happier with our little miracle. Cannot express how happy we are. Thank you for all the sweet warm messages.” He also acknowledged the complexities of such announcements, sending love and support to those who may be struggling with similar aspirations.

Verstappen’s fans and followers flooded the couple with well-wishes, celebrating the joyous news. As the 2025 season approaches, the Dutch driver is set to embark on a new chapter in his personal life, alongside his ongoing success on the racetrack.
