Ferrari has announced a new multi-year extension of its longstanding partnership with Shell, set to commence on January 1, 2026. The agreement will see Shell continue its role as a technical partner, supporting not only Ferrari’s Formula One endeavors but also its Hypercar program in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the Ferrari Challenge series.
The collaboration between Ferrari and Shell dates back to 1929, when Enzo Ferrari established Scuderia Ferrari as Alfa Romeo’s racing division. Over the past 90 years, Shell has played a significant role in Ferrari’s motorsport success, helping the team secure 10 Constructors’ Championships and 12 Drivers’ Championships, including five of Michael Schumacher’s titles. Their shared history in Formula One includes three distinct eras: an initial period from 1951 to 1964, a second from 1966 to 1973, and an unbroken partnership since 1996.
Shell, headquartered in London, is a prominent name in motorsport sponsorship with partnerships spanning Formula One, MotoGP, and IndyCar. Its iconic collaborations include associations with BRM, McLaren, Lotus, Ducati Corse, and Team Penske, among others. In recent years, Shell has also become the official fuel provider for the IndyCar Series, supplying E100 race fuel to all teams.
Ferrari expressed its enthusiasm for the extended partnership in a recent statement, saying: “Ferrari is pleased to announce the multi-year renewal of its partnership with Shell. The agreement, which will take effect on January 1, 2026, includes Scuderia Ferrari HP, Ferrari Hypercar, and the Ferrari Challenge series.”
With Ferrari’s contract with Shell originally set to expire in 2025, this early renewal underscores the strength of their relationship and mutual commitment to pushing the boundaries of performance and innovation in motorsport.
