In the second practice session (FP2) of the Sao Paulo E-Prix, Sam Bird emerged as the fastest driver, clocking a time of 1m12.773s. He secured the top spot by nearly one-tenth of a second, edging out Stoffel Vandoorne of DS Penske.
At the onset of the session, championship leader Nick Cassidy briefly led the timesheets with a time of 1m13.849s, closely followed by Nico Muller of Abt. However, their positions were soon surpassed by Maximilian Guenther of Maserati MSG and Pascal Wehrlein.
As the session progressed, Norman Nato of Andretti and Wehrlein continued to set competitive lap times, with Wehrlein eventually lowering the benchmark further. Reigning Formula E champion Jake Dennis broke the 1m13s barrier with a time of 1m12.943s.

Vandoorne briefly claimed the top spot, but Bird ultimately took the lead with a time of 1m12.773s. However, the session was interrupted by a red flag when Edoardo Mortara of Mahindra halted on track.
Following the restart, there was insufficient time for drivers to set flying laps, with Oliver Rowland of Nissan finishing third. Mitch Evans of Jaguar encountered issues early in the session, suspected to be a front driveshaft problem, limiting his track time. He finished at the bottom of the timesheets, while his teammate Cassidy secured 12th place.
During Friday’s FP1, Evans had set the pace with a time of 1m12.555s, closely followed by Cassidy. However, Guenther, who finished sixth in FP2, received a 20-place grid penalty for a gearbox change before the session.
Overall, the session provided valuable track time for teams and drivers ahead of qualifying later in the day. With various teams making adjustments and seeking optimal performance for the upcoming race.
