RB01 Unveiled: First Look at RB’s Debut F1 Car Under New Team Identity

RB, Red Bull’s secondary Formula 1 team, has lifted the curtain on its latest car following its rebranding.

Formerly known as AlphaTauri and previously as Toro Rosso from 2006 to 2019, the team revealed its third identity under Red Bull ownership last month.

Officially entered as ‘Visa Cash App RB’ to recognize its two title sponsors, the team’s official name remains Racing Bulls, with ‘RB’ holding no formal acronym.

RB hosted a launch event for its new car, the RB01, in Las Vegas, unveiling renderings of its design.

The team’s updated livery prominently features its new sponsors and showcases additional additions such as watch manufacturer Tudor and clothing brand Hugo. Notably absent is Red Bull’s clothing line, AlphaTauri, which previously lent its name to the team.

Replacing the dark blue and white livery from 2020-23, the RB01 sports a vibrant blue with white sections and red trim.

With a shift in identity, Red Bull has set ambitious goals for the team. While previously serving as a junior outfit to develop Red Bull Junior Team drivers, RB is now aiming to contend for top honors in Formula 1.

Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda will continue as the team’s drivers, boasting the most extensive combined experience under Red Bull’s ownership, with over 300 starts between them.

Both drivers attended the launch event alongside Amna Al-Qubaisi, supported by the team in this year’s F1 Academy series. New team principal Laurent Mekies and CEO Peter Bayer were also in attendance.
