During Everton’s warm weather training camp in Portugal, manager Sean Dyche found himself in an unexpected situation after a playful gesture toward defender Nathan Patterson took an unfortunate turn.
Reportedly, Dyche aimed a light-hearted tap on Patterson’s head during a team meal at the Quinta do Lago resort in the Algarve. However, the action ended up being more forceful than intended, resulting in an unintended impact.
Although there was no major altercation during or after the incident, Dyche took the opportunity to apologize to Patterson for any unintended offense caused by his actions.

The Everton squad returned from their training camp, with their upcoming Premier League fixture against Liverpool postponed due to the Reds’ FA Cup commitments.
Dyche had hoped the change in environment would invigorate the team, who have struggled with an 11-game winless streak in the league. Their recent defeat against Manchester United highlighted their difficulties in scoring goals, with Dyche expressing frustration at the team’s lack of belief in front of the net.
Currently sitting 16th in the league table, Everton faces a crucial period in their season as they aim to secure their position above the relegation zone in the final stretch of fixtures.
