Noel Gallagher skipped the Manchester City Poznan celebration after a memorable night out left him unable to join in.
The renowned Oasis star, 56, is a regular fixture at City games, often seen at both home and away matches. He attended City’s 4-0 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage, where goals from Josko Gvardiol, Phil Foden, and Julian Alvarez propelled Pep Guardiola’s side closer to a fourth consecutive league title.
Despite the impressive win, City temporarily dropped to second place after Arsenal’s triumph over Manchester United on Sunday. During the match against Fulham, City fans engaged in the Poznan celebration, a tradition inspired by Polish club Lech Poznan. However, Gallagher, featured in the footage, refrained from participating in the ritual.
Speaking on talkSPORT’s breakfast show, Gallagher explained his absence from the Poznan, citing lingering effects from a lively night out. “I was still feeling the effects of a spectacular night out,” he revealed, suggesting he wouldn’t have been physically up to joining the celebration even if he wanted to.
Despite City’s prolonged success in the top-flight, Gallagher admitted to experiencing nerves during games. He noted a generational divide among fans, with younger supporters expecting dominance and older ones maintaining a sense of pessimism. Gallagher acknowledged City’s relaxed approach to their pursuit of success but highlighted the enduring tension felt by some fans during matches.
