Progress is underway between Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund for Jadon Sancho’s loan, while interest grows in Anthony Martial.

A loan deal for Jadon Sancho between Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund is in progress, displaying a collective willingness to finalize the arrangement, although specific details remain pending, without a set timeline for completion.
Despite Dortmund’s wish for Sancho to join their Marbella training camp, uncertainty looms over finalizing the deal this weekend.
The proposed deal involves a straightforward loan, with Sancho’s future slated for evaluation during the summer. Despite his United contract extending until 2026, the club holds an option for a further year.
Sancho has been absent from United’s matches since August 26, following a public dispute with manager Erik ten Hag, stemming from critiques about the player’s training performances.

Meanwhile, clubs in Saudi Arabia and Turkish side Fenerbahce have shown interest in Anthony Martial. With the striker in the final six months of his United contract, he is open to discussions with non-English clubs.
As of now, United is unlikely to extend Martial’s contract for a year and is open to offers this month. If he remains at Old Trafford, a free transfer in the summer appears increasingly likely.
Manager Erik ten Hag confirmed ongoing discussions with Martial regarding his future. Martial has featured in seven games across all competitions this season, scoring twice.
United has reportedly received offers for several strikers, including Timo Werner from RB Leipzig and Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting from Bayern Munich. However, formal discussions about potential incoming transfers have not commenced yet.
The winter transfer window opened and is set to close on February 1, 2024, aligning with other major European leagues’ schedules following discussions with various football associations.
