The Black Queens have qualified for the 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after eliminating Namibia in the final qualifying round. This high-profile game will help the team stay in shape ahead of the tournament and provide Head Coach Nora Häuptle the opportunity to assess new additions to the squad.

The Japanese team will use the match to strengthen their preparation for the Paris Olympic Games. Japan currently holds the seventh rank in the world, while Ghana’s Black Queens are sixty-fourth globally and fourth on the African continent.
