Following racist abuse directed at Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson on social media after their FA Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester City, club legend Didier Drogba has shared words of encouragement, advising the young striker to stay resilient and focused.
Despite the challenges faced in his debut season at Chelsea, Jackson has contributed significantly, scoring 13 goals and providing five assists across all competitions. Drogba, who achieved iconic status at Chelsea, scoring over 150 goals and securing numerous titles, empathized with Jackson’s situation, urging him to remain steadfast and dedicated.
Taking to Twitter, Drogba posted photos of Jackson with a message: “Keep your head held high and continue to work hard; your efforts will yield results.”
In addition to Drogba’s support, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino defended Jackson against the online abuse, condemning the anonymous perpetrators who targeted the young player. Pochettino emphasized the need to ignore such negativity and focus on personal growth and performance.

Acknowledging the pressure faced by Jackson, especially as a striker at a high-profile club like Chelsea, Pochettino assured him of the team’s support and urged patience as he navigates through his debut season.
Despite the challenges, Pochettino expressed confidence in Jackson’s abilities and stressed the importance of continued support and encouragement as he progresses in his career.
As Jackson prepares for Chelsea’s upcoming match against Arsenal, both Drogba and Pochettino’s messages serve as a reminder of the importance of resilience and perseverance in the face of adversity.
