On the first day of the second Test match against England in Visakhapatnam, Yashasvi Jaiswal Test century, India’s opener, made history by becoming the first Indian centurion in the ongoing five-Test series. After lunch, he reached the milestone with a six off the bowling of left-arm spinner Tom Hartley. India, having won the toss, opted to bat first.

The BCCI shared the memorable moment of Jaiswal achieving his century.
This marked a significant achievement for the young left-handed batsman, who was playing his sixth Test match since making his debut the previous year. Notably, in his debut Test against the West Indies in Dominica in July, Yashasvi Jaiswal had showcased his potential by scoring 171 runs. Despite making 80 runs in the first innings of the opening Test against England in Hyderabad, which India lost by 28 runs on Day 4, Jaiswal’s performance in Visakhapatnam demonstrated his resilience and capability at the international level.
