[Watch] Phil Salt Smashes Romario Shepherd for 30 Runs in One Over

Phil Salt was at his destructive best in England’s first T20 World Cup Super Eights match against West Indies at Daren Sammy Stadium in St Lucia.

Chasing a challenging 181-run target, England lost Jos Buttler to Roston Chase’s off-spin at a critical moment. However, Salt continued his aggressive play, forming a sensational third-wicket stand with Jonny Bairstow to guide England to victory.

Salt particularly targeted Windies all-rounder Romario Shepherd, hammering him for 30 runs in a single over. This happened during the 16th over of England’s innings when they needed 40 runs from the last five overs.

Salt started the over by hitting a boundary through the off side to complete his fifty. He then smashed Shepherd for a massive six straight down the ground, followed by a cheeky uppercut for another boundary. He hit the next two balls over the fence for huge sixes and finished the over with another boundary, collecting 30 runs in total.

Salt’s exceptional unbeaten 87-run knock helped England chase down the total with 15 balls to spare. This emphatic win opened England’s account in the Super Eights points table.
