In the fifth and final Test match between India and England in Dharamsala, India experienced a significant collapse on Friday (March 8), slipping from 275/1 to 428/8. This match holds special significance as it marks the 100th Test for two key players, Ravichandran Ashwin and Jonny Bairstow. While much attention was on Ravi Ashwin, known as one of the greatest match-winners in red-ball cricket, it was Tom Hartley who dismissed him with a superb delivery.

Hartley’s delivery, bowled in the last ball of the 102nd over of India’s innings, pitched around the off stump. Ravi Ashwin, anticipating turn, played along the line, but Hartley delivered a sharp slider that breached his defense, resulting in his dismissal. Despite Ashwin’s disappointment with his brief five-ball duck, Hartley was jubilant to claim the wicket of the veteran player in the final match of the series.
Despite the setback, India finished strongly on Day 2, reaching a total of 462/8 with Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah at the crease.
