Suryakumar Yadav’s heroic 28-ball 53, featuring five fours and three sixes, enabled Team India to post a competitive total of 182 runs on a slow pitch favoring spinners. However, his innings came to an end when he mistimed a back-of-length delivery from Fazalhaq Farooqi, resulting in a catch by Mohammad Nabi at long-off.
Yadav’s impressive effort received solid support from India’s vice-captain, who scored a quick 32. Contributions from Virat Kohli (24), Rishabh Pant (20), and Axar Patel (12) also bolstered the team’s total.
In their chase of 183 runs, Afghanistan stumbled early, losing three wickets within the powerplay. After 8 overs, they stand at 47/3, with Gulbadin Naib and Azmatullah Omarzai currently at the crease.
