Rishabh Pant Might Leave Delhi Capitals: Top IPL Team to Sign Him, Report Says

According to a report by Dainik Jagran, Indian cricket team wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant may leave Delhi Capitals ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Pant, currently the most capped player and leading run-scorer for the franchise, might not be retained by DC despite the support of Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly. If released, Pant’s likely destination is Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who are in search of a talented Indian wicket-keeper batter with MS Dhoni nearing retirement. Pant’s potential move to CSK could significantly strengthen their lineup.

In other news, India all-rounder Shivam Dube credited the IPL for enhancing his skills and boosting his confidence, which led to his selection in the Indian team after a successful 2024 season. Dube was the second-highest run-scorer for CSK, amassing 396 runs at a strike rate of 162.29, including three half-centuries. His impressive performance earned him a spot in India’s 15-member T20 World Cup squad.

Dube maintained his position in India’s playing XI throughout the tournament and delivered crucial performances. Notably, he scored 27 runs in the final against South Africa. Furthermore, his 57-run partnership with Virat Kohli (76) helped India post 176/6, ultimately leading to a six-run victory and their second T20 World Cup title. Overall, Dube’s contributions, totaling 133 runs in eight innings, were vital for India’s success.

“The IPL is truly remarkable for players and cricket’s growth in India. It not only offers a platform for young talent to play alongside the world’s best, but also significantly improves skills and builds confidence,” Dube told IANS.
