The tournament will be held in Dambulla, Sri Lanka from July 19 to July 28, promising a thrilling display of cricketing talent. Marking an exciting expansion from the previous edition, this year’s Women’s Cricket in Asia tournament welcomes eight nations to compete in the T20 format. Nepal joins the fray, making this a crucial preparatory ground for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Bangladesh.
Continuing the commitment showcased in the 2022 edition, the Women’s Asia Cup 2024 will feature all-female umpires and match referees. India, the defending champions, are poised for a much-anticipated clash with arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday, July 21. This promises to be a gripping encounter as India aims to maintain their stronghold in Group A, which also includes Nepal and UAE. Meanwhile, Group B features the previous edition’s runners-up Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Thailand.
