Chetry has already made her mark in T20 internationals, having played four matches this year. She made her debut against South Africa in July and has impressed in domestic cricket. Recently, Chetry was the second-highest run-scorer in the T20 Challenger Trophy, amassing 231 runs at an impressive strike rate of 154.00, including a remarkable 122 off 71 balls, the only century of the competition.

Chetry also has experience touring Australia with the India A team in August, although her performances were modest, with scores of 7, 11, 16, 2, and 47 in various formats.

Meanwhile, Bhatia had a solid stint with the Melbourne Stars in the WBBL, where she was the second-highest run-scorer for the team with 154 runs from six matches, despite missing the last three games. However, the Stars finished at the bottom of the table. Before her WBBL involvement, Bhatia played in India’s recent ODI series against New Zealand, scoring 84 runs in three matches.

The India Women’s squad for the series against Australia includes Harmanpreet Kaur (captain), Smriti Mandhana (vice-captain), Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, Richa Ghosh (wicketkeeper), and Uma Chetry (wicketkeeper). The three ODIs will be played in Brisbane and Perth, starting December 5.
