The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently conducted elections, appointing Mohsin Naqvi as the new chairman for a three-year term. The announcement came on Tuesday, revealing Naqvi’s unanimous election as the 37th PCB chairman.

Mohsin Naqvi Chosen as PCB Chairman for a Three-Year Term

Mohsin Naqvi expressed deep honor and humility upon being unanimously elected as the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board. He is fully committed to upgrading the standard of the game in the country. Additionally, Mohsin Naqvi aims to bring professionalism to the administration of cricket in Pakistan.

The anticipation for Naqvi’s appointment had grown following the resignation of Zaka Ashraf, who served as the de facto chairman. Mohsin Naqvi, who also filled the vacant position on the PCB’s board of governors, will continue to serve as Punjab’s caretaker chief minister concurrently.

While Naqvi lacks a background in cricketing administration, this is not unusual for PCB chairmen. His immediate responsibilities include overseeing the upcoming Pakistan Super League starting on February 17 and preparing for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, a significant event for which Pakistan will need logistical and administrative readiness.
