In a gripping clash against the Gujarat Titans at the Chepauk stadium in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Chennai Super Kings’ all-rounder Shivam Dube showcased his batting prowess once again. Taking charge after the dismissal of Ajinkya Rahane, Dube unleashed a flurry of powerful strokes, significantly boosting CSK’s run-scoring rate. His explosive hitting, including two consecutive sixes in the 11th over, not only electrified the stadium but also boosted the decibel level to 127, marking one of the highest recorded levels in this edition of the tournament.

Dube’s stellar performance with the bat proved instrumental in guiding CSK to a formidable total of 206/6 in their allotted 20 overs. He emerged as the highest run-scorer for the home team, amassing 51 runs off just 23 deliveries with a remarkable strike rate of 221.74. This impressive display of batting prowess wasn’t a one-off, as Dube had previously showed his form in the last match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), where he played a crucial unbeaten knock of 34 runs off 28 balls, steering his team to a decisive six-wicket victory.
Once again, Dube’s consistency and ability to deliver under pressure displayed his importance to the CSK squad, further strengthening his reputation as a dynamic all-rounder in the IPL circuit.
