Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube expressed gratitude towards the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and MS Dhoni for his cricketing growth. Dube, the leading run-scorer in the T20I series against Afghanistan, played a pivotal role in India’s successful chase in the second T20I, scoring an unbeaten 63 off 32 balls.
Batting at no.4, Shivam Dube formed a crucial 92-run partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal, steering India to victory. His career trajectory soared after joining CSK in the 2022 IPL auction, culminating in an outstanding 2023 season with 418 runs in 16 matches and a significant contribution to CSK’s fifth IPL title.
In a post-match interview, Dube credited CSK, especially captain MS Dhoni and coach Stephen Fleming, for instilling confidence in him. He acknowledged CSK’s role in bringing out the best in players and highlighted the support and belief shown by the team’s senior figures.
Dube emphasized the encouragement received from Dhoni and coach Fleming, focusing on his limitations and strengths. As he continues to deliver consistent performances, Dube strengthens his case for inclusion in India’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in June. The third T20I against Afghanistan is scheduled for January 17 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
