Islamabad United secured a crucial 29-run victory against Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League, despite Aamer Jamal’s impressive batting display on Monday.
Batting first, Islamabad posted a formidable total of 196-4, largely due to captain brilliant innings of 80 runs off 51 balls. The Shah brothers, Naseem Shah (1-26) and Hunain Shah (2-25), then wreaked havoc in the power play, reducing Peshawar to 18-5.

However, Aamer Jamal’s explosive knock of 87 runs off 49 balls ignited a spirited fightback for Peshawar, propelling them to 152-6 before Shadab dismissed him, taking 3-41 in his spell.
Despite Jamal’s heroics, Islamabad’s strong bowling performance ensured their victory, moving them to third position on the league table ahead of Zalmi on net run-rate.
Despite Jamal’s efforts and his partnership with Paul Walter (33), Peshawar couldn’t recover from their early collapse.
In the end, Shadab’s all-round contribution, along with valuable contributions from Agha Salman, Jordan Cox, and Azam Khan, guided Islamabad United to a well-deserved win.
