Their opponents, Madhya Pradesh, coached by Chandrakant Pandit, clinched a narrow four-run win against Andhra in the quarterfinals. Notably, Pandit previously guided Vidarbha to consecutive titles in 2017-18 and 2018-19.
Meanwhile, Mumbai’s journey to the semifinals featured a historic performance, with Tanush Kotian and Tushar Deshpande achieving the first pair since 1946 to score centuries while batting at number 10 and 11. The 41-time champions advanced to the last four stage by securing a first-innings lead against Baroda. They will now face Tamil Nadu, who eliminated defending champions Saurashtra by an innings and 33 runs, courtesy of R Sai Kishore’s impressive match haul of 9 for 93.
