The Prototype Winter Series is gearing up for its highly anticipated second season, with a dynamic mix of LMP3 entries expected to take part. For the 2025 campaign, the series will feature both outgoing second-generation LMP3 cars and first-generation cars, which will compete in a designated Gen 1 class.
The series will span four action-packed rounds, each consisting of two 50-minute races per weekend. Teams will be required to make mandatory pitstops, with the length of time spent in the pits depending on the experience of the driver lineup.
The season kicks off from January 16-19 at the Estoril circuit in Portugal, followed by another visit to Portugal at Portimao from January 23-26. After a short break coinciding with the conclusion of the Asian Le Mans Series, the competition resumes at Aragon from February 27 to March 2, before concluding with the final round at Barcelona from March 6-9.
Returning teams from last year’s successful campaign include Konrad Motorsport and Rinaldi Racing, who will be joined by some of the most respected names in the sportscar racing world, including CLX Motorsport (Cool Racing), DKR Engineering, and Racing Spirit of Leman. The grid is expected to feature between 10 and 15 cars, with a mix of Duqueine D08s and Ligier JSP320s, all running on Michelin tires.
As in previous seasons, every race of the Prototype Winter Series will be broadcast live on YouTube, ensuring fans can follow the thrilling action from start to finish. The 2025 season promises to bring even more excitement and competition as some of the best teams in the sport take to the track.
