Pakistan Cricket’s search for a permanent head coach since the last ODI World Cup continues, with Mohammad Hafeez’s brief stint as a stop-gap measure. Now, their sights are set on former Australian cricketer Shane Watson for the role, but his decision remains pending.

Shane Watson has reportedly demanded a hefty annual salary of $2 million, which the PCB has surprisingly agreed to. This could potentially be the highest-ever paid to a foreign coach in Pakistan’s cricket history.
However, despite the lucrative offer, Shane Watson remains undecided. This is likely due to several factors, including his family commitments in Australia and existing coaching roles in other cricket leagues. While he lacks experience coaching a national team, Watson’s success with the Quetta Gladiators is undeniable. His leadership led them to their first playoff qualification in five years, garnering significant attention from the PCB.
