India is gearing up for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann recently met with cricketers Shubman Gill and Arshdeep Singh to motivate them ahead of the tournament. The meeting, attended by the players’ families, highlighted their crucial roles in India’s campaign, with the event set to take place in Pakistan from February 19 to March 9.

Gill, accompanied by his father Lakhwinder Singh, has been in remarkable form, especially after his strong performance against England. The young opener, who debuted in ODIs in 2019, has scored 2,587 runs in 50 matches at an average of 60.16. His seven centuries and 15 half-centuries include a career-best 208, making him a key figure at the top of the batting order.
Arshdeep Singh, who came with his parents Darshan Singh and Baljit Kaur, brings firepower to India’s bowling attack. In nine ODIs, he has taken 14 wickets at an average of 23.00, with best figures of 5/37. His economy rate of 5.17 highlights his consistency in the limited-overs format. Additionally, Arshdeep picked up four wickets in the recent T20I series against England.
India’s group stage in the Champions Trophy 2025 features high-stakes matches against Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand. The team begins its campaign against Bangladesh on February 20 in Dubai, where all their group games will be held due to travel restrictions. With in-form talents like Gill and Arshdeep, India looks confident as they chase another ICC title.
