Mumbai’s bowlers displayed remarkable efficiency, restricting RCB to a modest total of 131 for six. Bhatia spearheaded Mumbai’s chase with an aggressive start, showcasing her power hitting prowess with a boundary off the first ball and later launching a six off Sophie Molineux. However, her innings was cut short by Sophie Devine’s sharp catch behind the stumps. Matthews, too, made a valuable contribution before falling to a well judged catch by Smriti Mandhana off Shreyanka Patil.

Despite the setbacks, Mumbai remained in control of the chase, with Nat-Sciver Brunt and the unbeaten Amelia Kerr steering them towards victory with a composed partnership. Kerr’s unbeaten 40 off 27 deliveries ensured Mumbai crossed the finish line with ease.

Before, RCB had a tough start to their batting as Mumbai’s bowlers got into a good groove early on. Skipper Mandhana getting out showed RCB’s problems, as they started rushing their shots. Elysse Perry’s strong innings of 44 runs, not out, helped RCB’s score a bit, with some help from Georgia Wareham.

Despite missing key players like Harmanpreet Kaur and Shabnim Ismail due to injuries, Mumbai exhibited unwavering intensity, maintaining their winning momentum in the tournament. RCB’s top-order batsmen faltered under pressure, failing to counter Mumbai’s disciplined bowling attack.

In essence, Mumbai Indians’ cohesive performance, both with the ball and the bat, propelled them to the top of the table, showcasing their dominance in the WPL 2024 season.
