In a nail-biting encounter at Eden Gardens, RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore) narrowly fell short against KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders) by just 1 run. The match culminated in a dramatic runout of Ferguson on the last ball, securing KKR’s victory.

RCB’s chase of 223 runs began with a blazing start from Virat Kohli. However, Kohli’s dismissal on a controversial delivery shifted the momentum. Will Jacks and Rajat Patidar then steadied the innings, raising hopes of a successful chase.
Despite their efforts, RCB stumbled, losing 4 wickets in 2 overs, allowing KKR to gain the upper hand. Dinesh Karthik and Prabhudessai fought back, but it wasn’t sufficient.
In a dramatic turn, tail-ender Karn Sharma smashed consecutive sixes, bringing RCB close to victory. However, his dismissal on the next ball left Ferguson and Mohammed Siraj at the crease for the final delivery.
Unfortunately, Ferguson’s runout on the last ball dashed RCB’s hopes of victory, leaving Siraj visibly disappointed.
Expressing his sadness, Mohammed Siraj took to Instagram to share his emotions. Earlier, he had voiced his concerns about the impact of the 12th man rule, particularly its effect on bowlers in flat track conditions.
With 7 losses in 8 games, RCB faces an uphill battle to revive their fortunes in the tournament.
