Lucknow Super Giants’ pace sensation, Mayank Yadav, faces uncertainty over his participation in the remaining IPL matches after sustaining a suspected abdominal muscle injury during the recent game against Mumbai Indians. This marks his second injury setback in the past month.
Despite the setback, there is a glimmer of hope for the 21-year-old as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly set to offer him a pace bowling contract along with other promising talents. This contract will entail supervision from the National Cricket Academy’s Sports Science and Medical team. Overseeing his injury management and fitness program.
According to a BCCI source, Mayank’s injury is likely a grade 1 tear, which could jeopardize his availability for the remaining IPL matches. However, there remains a slim chance of his participation in the playoffs if Lucknow Super Giants qualify.
