Indian opener Mayank Agarwal is poised to make a comeback on the cricket pitch against Tamil Nadu after a recent health setback. The 32-year-old, who has faced challenges lately, is now fit after a health scare during his journey back from Agartala.
Following Karnataka’s victory over Tripura, Mayank Agarwal encountered a serious medical issue while traveling back. During his flight from Agartala to Delhi, he inadvertently ingested an unidentified liquid, which he mistook for water.
This ingestion led to various adverse effects, including vomiting, prompting an urgent hospital visit in Agartala. Mayank Agarwal received attentive medical care from both the onboard medical team and officials from cricket associations.
After receiving treatment, Mayank Agarwal provided reassuring updates about his health through social media and was discharged the next day.
Upon returning to Bengaluru, Agarwal underwent further medical assessments and was advised to rest for several days. Unfortunately, his health setback caused him to miss the Ranji Trophy match against Railways in Surat.
However, after thorough examinations and a brief recuperation period, Mayank Agarwal has been given the green light to resume playing. Consequently, he has been included in Karnataka’s squad for their upcoming match against Tamil Nadu, the current leaders of the table, scheduled for February 9th.
