Mark Wood’s exclusion is part of the ECB’s strategic workload management plan, considering the upcoming T20 World Cup and England’s hosting of West Indies and Sri Lanka for Tests in the home summer. Wood, initially signed by Super Giants in 2022 for INR 7.50 crore, missed the season due to injury. However, in IPL 2023, he played four matches, showcasing his skills with 11 wickets at an average of 11.82.

After a strong debut against Australia, Shamar Joseph joins Lucknow Super Giants, shifting from Dubai Capitals due to a toe injury. His impressive performance in Australia secured him a deal with Peshawar Zalmi in the upcoming PSL. Despite limited T20 experience, West Indies coach Daren Sammy hints at considering Joseph for the T20 World Cup squad.

Lucknow Super Giants boast a robust fast-bowling lineup with Naveen-ul-Haq, Mohsin Khan, David Willey, Shivam Mavi, Yash Thakur, and Yudhvir Singh. The team also features allrounders Marcus Stoinis, Kyle Mayers, and Arshin Kulkarni, providing a versatile and well-rounded squad. Despite being a relatively new IPL team, Super Giants have consistently performed well, reaching the playoffs and securing third place in both 2022 and 2023.
