The upcoming 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will kick off with a dazzling opening ceremony at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on March 22, featuring an array of Bollywood and music industry stars. Among the luminaries scheduled to perform are Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, AR Rahman, and Sonu Nigam, promising an unforgettable fusion of cricket and entertainment. The ceremony will also feature renowned Swedish DJ Axwell, adding to the star-studded lineup.
The opening ceremony, slated to begin at 6:30 PM, will precede the much-anticipated match between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at 8 PM. Defending champions Chennai Super Kings, led by the iconic Mahendra Singh Dhoni, will aim for a sixth IPL title, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru seeks their maiden championship victory.
Speculation surrounds Dhoni’s future in the IPL, with reports suggesting that the 2024 season could mark his final year in the league.
