English paceman Tom Curran was on fire for Surrey in their T20 Blast clash against Somerset, grabbing a crucial three-wicket haul to lead his team to a dominant 57-run victory.
Chasing a modest target of 164, Somerset’s batting crumbled after a decent start. With the score at 62-4, Curran entered the attack and ripped through the middle order. His pinpoint out-swinger sent Somerset batsman Sean Dickson packing, leaving the batter helpless.
Curran Added Wickets to His Haul. He added the wickets of Ben Green and skipper Craig Overton to his tally, completely derailing Somerset’s chase. Surrey, led by Ollie Pope’s batting heroics earlier, bundled out their opponents for a mere 106, securing their third consecutive win in the tournament.
This impressive performance also made Curran the leading wicket-taker for Surrey this season with six scalps, although he trails the overall tournament leader, Tymal Mills, by two wickets.
Surrey will look to continue their winning streak when they take on Sussex at Kennington Oval on June 7th.
