This series holds immense significance for India as they consider it a crucial stepping stone in their preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, scheduled to take place in Bangladesh later this year, in September-October. With the World Cup on the horizon, the Indian squad is leaving no stone unturned in fine-tuning their skills and strategies.

India women’s last Bangladesh tour was marred with controversies, particularly regarding poor umpiring standards. Reflecting on their previous encounters, in 2023, India faced Bangladesh in a riveting series comprising three T20Is and three ODIs. While India clinched the T20I series 2-1, the ODI series concluded in a tie.

However, the last tour had some issues. After the third ODI, which ended in a tie, India’s captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, was not happy with the umpiring decisions, calling them ‘really bad’. Kaur got upset when she was dismissed, and she showed her unhappiness after the match.

Looking ahead, India’s vice-captain, Smriti Mandhana, emphasized the importance of neutral umpires for future encounters, echoing sentiments of fair play and sportsmanship. With the Indian squad set to arrive in Bangladesh on April 23, anticipation is running high among cricket aficionados. The fixtures promise an exhilarating display of cricketing prowess, with the schedule as follows:
