The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed their home season schedule for 2024-25 on July 6. According to a report by Sports Tak, the Indian men’s cricket team is unlikely to participate in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan. The tournament is scheduled to be held from February 19 to March 9.

It is reported that the decision regarding India’s participation will be made by the Indian government. A source mentioned that while the specifics of the tournament haven’t been finalized, it is highly improbable that the Indian team will visit Pakistan. The PCB plans to discuss this issue at the upcoming ICC meeting in Sri Lanka.
India and Pakistan have had limited cricketing engagements since 2008, with only one bilateral series in 2012–13. Last year, due to tensions, the Asia Cup, scheduled to be held in Pakistan, was relocated to Sri Lanka, where India played all their matches.
Despite India’s decision, Pakistan participated in the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 in India, playing matches across various cities. Recently, the PCB submitted a draft for the Champions Trophy 2025, scheduling matches in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Karachi. Lahore is set to host all India matches, including potential semifinals.
In the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy final held in England, Pakistan emerged victorious over India led by Sarfaraz Ahmed.
