Royal Challengers Bengaluru produced a breathtaking chase to clinch their second Women’s Premier League crown, with Smriti Mandhana and Georgia Voll at the heart of a dramatic final against Delhi Capitals.
Chasing 204 in the Women’s Premier League final, Royal Challengers Bengaluru recovered from an early setback to post the highest successful chase in tournament history. Mandhana and Voll came together at 9 for 1 and unleashed a stunning counterattack, piling on 165 runs in just 92 balls — the biggest partnership for any wicket in WPL history. Mandhana blazed her way to 87, reaching her half-century in only 23 deliveries, while Voll’s fluent 79 off 54 kept RCB comfortably ahead of the required rate.
Earlier, Delhi had put up a formidable total of 203 for 4 after a strong middle and late surge. Lizelle Lee provided early impetus, smashing quick boundaries, before Laura Wolvaardt and Jemimah Rodrigues took charge. Rodrigues dazzled with timing and placement on her way to a brisk fifty, while Wolvaardt chipped in with a measured 44. At the death, Chinelle Henry exploded, plundering boundaries in the final overs to push DC past 200 — the second-highest first-innings score in a women’s T20 final.
RCB’s reply began aggressively through Grace Harris, but Henry struck early to remove her. Mandhana and Voll then dominated every phase, dismantling the bowling attack and threatening to turn the chase into a procession. Just when it seemed settled, DC fought back with late wickets, including Mandhana’s dismissal, leaving tension in the closing moments.
With 10 required from the final over, Radha Yadav held her nerve, cracking consecutive boundaries to seal a thrilling six-wicket victory and once again deny Delhi in a WPL final.
